One Week Down—Thirty-Six To Go

Week one of the 2026-2027 school year started in a whirl, and we’re already plugging along toward a great year. Our classes enjoyed taking pictures in front of the sign  pictured above that was purchased from Card My Yard. Everything is in full swing now. Students will begin AR testing this week for the new school year. Plus, we’re accepting book recommendations for new books to add to our library. You can learn more on this post about our library.

We have several important events coming in the next few days. Several of them are listed below, and you can always watch our events calendar online for other upcoming events.

First Teacher Work Day August 21

At the end of week two, our students get to enjoy their first holiday! Friday, August 21, is a teacher work day, as the Baptist Association’s Send Relief Project will be working on our campus. No students will be at NBS on this Friday, but teachers and staff will be working during regular office hours.

Students, enjoy your long weekend!

Join the PTO

There’s still time to join the PTO at a discount. There are so many things that the PTO does to help support the school, and your membership helps make that happen. In addition, the PTO has several important fundraisers throughout the year. The rummage sale set for October needs donations and volunteers to help out. You can learn more about the PTO’s upcoming fundraisers on the PTO page.

Annual membership is $10 per family through October 8. Please complete this PTO membership form and send your payment to the NBS office.

PTO raising money through Community Coffee Labels & Box Tops for Education

Along with the fundraisers that are coming throughout the year, the PTO has two continual fundraisers that you can help with directly. Everyone who purchases Community Coffee products or grocery items that have Box Tops for Education tags on them can scan your receipts and have the companies send donations to the school of your choice. Community Coffee also has labels that can be clipped and delivered to the NBS office, if you’d prefer that to scanning a receipt. Both of these organizations help schools through their respective giving opportunities, and your participation can be part of it.
