What Supplies Do Your Students Need?

At NBS, we carefully evaluate school supply needs each year. Our goal is to only list items that we expect to need within the school year, avoiding a great excess that would just pile up in a closet. When we do find that we have an excess, we adjust the supply list to reduce those items, instead focusing on other needed items. Sometimes, supplies are even removed from the list for a year. We also strive to speak with our teachers about what supplies they used throughout the year or expect to need in the coming year. All of this is designed to reduce your financial burden as you shop for school supplies alongside all the other daily necessities.

Below, you’ll find links to each of the supply lists—divided by grade—and printed copies of the supply lists can be picked up at the office, along with the calendar for the coming year. For July, the office is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3:30 PM.

The supply lists are divided into three groups: Preschool and Kindergarten, Elementary (Grades 1-6), and Upper School (Grades 7-12). Each is divided into office supplies and classroom supplies.

When to Bring Supplies to School

Orientation is scheduled for August 4 (7th-12th Grades) and August 7 (PK-6th Grades). This is the perfect time to bring supplies. Please write your student’s name on supplies as this will help reduce confusion with the vast number of people bringing items on these days. Office supplies will be delivered to the auditorium during the initial orientation and will need to be packaged separately from class supplies. Upper School students can bring their class supplies on the first day of school—when they will receive their lockers and be able to arrange them for the year. Preschool, Kindergarten, and Elementary class supplies need to be brought to orientation and delivered to the classroom.
