GATOR Scholarship Update
Odyssey Sending Acceptance Emails to State Scholarship Students
The Louisiana Department of Education posted a GATOR scholarship update on June 27, letting families and schools know that Odyssey (the company running the scholarship process) was notifying the families of last year’s State scholarship students about their scholarships. We just received an email clarifying that Odyssey sent these emails out in waves, and the last emails should arrive on July 11. Please check your emails—especially junk folders—for an email from Odyssey, and let us know if you’ve received an email. You can forward your email to Monna Lee.
State Scholarship Students Who Haven’t Received an Email
If you are a previous State scholarship recipient and haven’t received a communication from Odyssey, the company has advised us to have you contact them. They said that you are able to do this through the Odyssey portal. Based upon the information that we’ve received, they aren’t updating students’ statuses in the portal yet, so this won’t change even if you have received an email.
Newly Applying for the GATOR scholarship
If your student wasn’t previously on the State scholarship, Odyssey hasn’t announced when they will award these scholarships. Please keep checking your emails for any news from the company about this. They are still checking to verify how many scholarships they will be able to award this year.
It’s not easy—waiting for scholarships to be awarded. If you have any questions while you’re waiting, check out the updates on the Department of Education’s website.
